We repair forced-air furnaces in homes and townhouses across New York City — gas furnaces that heat air and move it through ducts. Common problems we fix: no heat, frequent cycling, ignition failures, blower problems and unusual noises. HVAC diagnostics are $99 + tax, credited in full toward your approved repair. You approve a fixed repair price before work begins, and every repair is backed by our 90-day labor warranty.
One New York City note: most apartment buildings, co-ops and condos here do not have furnaces at all — they are heated by a central boiler (steam or hot water) feeding radiators or a water loop. If your home has radiators and no ductwork, your system is boiler-based, not a furnace. We service boiler-heated buildings as well — call (917) 997-4525 and describe what you have, and we will send the right technician.
Common Furnace Problems We Repair
The furnace does not start; it starts and shuts off after a few minutes (short cycling); the blower runs but the air stays cold; the furnace is loud at startup; rooms heat unevenly; the thermostat calls for heat and nothing happens. The same symptom can come from an ignition fault, a dirty flame sensor, a failing blower motor, a control-board problem or a safety limit doing its job — so we diagnose before quoting, and we do not replace parts on a guess.
How Furnace Diagnostics Work
We run the full heating sequence and test each stage: thermostat call for heat, ignition (hot-surface igniter or spark), flame sensing, gas valve operation, blower motor and capacitor, control board and limit switches, flue and venting condition, and a visual heat-exchanger inspection with combustion safety checks. HVAC diagnostics are $99 + tax, credited in full toward your approved repair. You receive an estimate with labor and parts shown separately before any repair begins.

Furnace Repair FAQ
How can I tell if I have a furnace or a boiler?
Look at how heat reaches the rooms. Warm air coming from floor or wall vents means a forced-air furnace. Radiators, baseboards or a heated water loop mean a boiler system. Many New York buildings use boilers; houses and townhouses in Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Nassau County more often have furnaces.
How much does furnace repair cost?
Diagnostics are $99 + tax, credited in full toward your approved repair. The repair is quoted after diagnostics as a fixed price, with labor and parts shown separately, and starts only with your approval. Labor carries a 90-day warranty; parts are covered by the manufacturer or supplier as specified on your receipt.
Do you repair boiler and steam heating systems too?
Yes — boiler-based heating is the most common system in New York City buildings, and we diagnose and repair the unit-level equipment connected to it. Describe your building and system when you call, and we will confirm the right service before booking.
I smell gas near the furnace. What should I do?
Leave the building and call your gas utility’s emergency line or 911 first. Do not book a repair visit for a suspected gas leak — that is a utility emergency, not a service call.
How do I book a furnace diagnostic?
Call (917) 997-4525, Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM, or use the Request Service page on this site — we reply to confirm scheduling; an online request is not a confirmed appointment.
